Dr. Miller grew up in Davenport, Iowa, & attended Western Illinois University, where he graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in Music. He received his medical degree from the University of New England College of Osteopathic Medicine in Biddeford, Maine, then did his Internal Medicine Residency at Horizon/Henry Ford Health System near Detroit, Michigan.
He was named Intern of the Year in his first year, and was a three-time winner of Resident of the Year. He returned to Macomb in 2001, and opened Medical Group of Macomb in 2003. He is board certified by the American Osteopathic Board of Internal Medicine. He has a faculty development fellowship through Michigan State University, and a certificate of health care leadership and management through the University of Texas at Dallas.
In his spare time, he enjoys survival medicine.
